The game-worn jersey from Cooper Flagg’s rookie debut with the Dallas Mavericks was sold in a private transaction for $1 million earlier this month via Sotheby’s, the auction house revealed Thursday. This marks the most expensive Flagg collectible recorded so far.
Brahm Wachter, Sotheby’s head of modern collectibles, noted that many view Flagg as having the makings of a future American icon. He added that, in his experience handling rookie memorabilia, he hasn’t witnessed this level of demand for a young player’s items since the early days of LeBron James.
