Following an uneven stretch with the Indianapolis Colts, former Florida quarterback Anthony Richardson is seeking a new direction. The former No. 4 overall pick and his representatives have indicated their intention to part ways with the franchise that selected him in 2023.

Reports indicate the organization is also open to moving on, aiming to restructure its quarterback room after a difficult sequence of events led to 40-year-old Philip Rivers starting three games this season.

Richardson’s tenure in Indianapolis was marked by inconsistency and injuries. The 6-foot-4, 244-pound quarterback appeared in 17 games over three seasons, throwing 11 touchdowns against 13 interceptions.

After losing the starting job to Daniel Jones during training camp, Richardson suffered an orbital bone fracture in October following a resistance band accident. The injury sidelined him for the remainder of the 2025 season and prompted Rivers’ return.

Richardson declared for the NFL Draft after his redshirt sophomore season at Florida. That year, he started all 12 games, throwing for 2,549 yards and 17 touchdowns. Known for his dual-threat capabilities, he also ranked second on the team in rushing touchdowns with nine.
